Band Hunt Season 2

Chennai Live 104.8FM launches Band Hunt Season 2 to promote new and hidden talent in the city. Bigger than last year, Chennai Live 104.8FM is on the prowl at college campuses, corporates and IT Parks across the city to scout for talent.

Last year saw 70 bands from Chennai, Bangalore and even Pune take the city by storm. The three bands to reach the top were Wolf Lair, who came first, with Blues Conscience and Off the Record a close second and third.

The registrations for the second edition will also take place via www.chennailivebandhunt.com Bands can upload their songs and amateur videos. The top 70 bands that people vote for will be selected for auditions on October 16 and 17 at Aloft Hotel, OMR, Chennai. Judging the event will be the faculty from Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music!

Fifteen bands will be selected for the semi-finals, and will be featured on the late night show – One Night Stand– between 9.00 p.m. and 11.00 p.m., hosted by Chennai's Arjun Thomas.

The 15 bands will be whittled down to five finalists who will battle it out for the total cash prize of Rs. 1.5 lakhs and an album deal with Sathyam's record label, Purple Note. The hunt began on October 1. The event is sponsored by Derby Jeans community and powered by Aloft Hotels. Associate Sponsor is ITM.
