Close to nature: Eco-friendly ambience

The whole world is going green these days, now you could be a part of it too! Here's a place you could chill out at after a long day or a tiring week at work in a completely eco-friendly atmosphere with organic and yet finger licking good food!

Sprawling over three and a half acres of land, adjacent to the Muttukadu lake on Old Mahabalipuram Road, Escapade multi-cuisine restaurant and drive-in has.lush green fields and huts made of bamboo, coconut reeves and wood, The restaurant is carefully designed to its natural best.

Food and more

An initiative taken by Ms. Divya Singaravelu, a corporate-turned-model in association with the Escapade group of hotels, the place is aimed at being more than just a restaurant.

“We're the only restaurant in the city open till 10 or 11p.m”, says Mr. Ranjith, Director, Escapade Drive-In. “Our priority is to make the place a peaceful hang-out where one could relax with family and friends, have some good food, play some games and enjoy the fresh air.” Yes, they have separate courts for volleyball, shuttle and net cricket where the guests are welcome to flex a muscle before or after food!

The restaurant specialises mainly in Indian food varieties. One could start with a tastebuds-teasing Spinach and Tomato soup (Rs. 45) and proceed to a whole range of meal starters including Meen Poondu 65 (Rs. 135), Poricha Kozhi (Rs.115) and Kariveppilai Prawns (Rs.155). For the veggies out there, there is the suggested Golden Veg Curry (Rs. 135) and Paneer Haryali Tikka (Rs. 105).The main course could be a palatable plate of Chicken Jalfreizi or a serving of Tandoori Prawns (Rs. 174). The special Masala Kulchas could fit in for a fuller meal.

A delectable serving of fruit salad with honey or the yummy Carrot Halwa is suggested for a mouth-watering experience! If desired, one could wash it all down with a dose of the Escapade special — organic tea.

Chemical–free

“The food is completely based on the chemical-free vegetables most of which are grown in the in-house farm. They're grown in natural conditions without any fertilizers or pesticides, thus ensuring natural taste and original flavour in the food items.” says manager.Mr. Karthik.

The restaurant is expected to take more strides forward in the near future, with plans for the construction of a coffee shop and a pub inside the premises.
