Moreover, once they enter standards 7th onwards there is an increased competiveness and teens also in this increasingly competitive environment, students attend coaching classes after college or school and thus the risk of contracting disease increases. the increased exposure to such places conducive to contracting diseases increase. To add to that, a lot of teenagers suffer from the stress of performing well in academics – this leads to a compromise on affects their immune system making them more susceptible to viral infections.
Symptoms
Symptoms of Flu virus viral flu can appear identical to common flu and cold, but are much more dangerous. Symptoms of seasonal flu and 2009 H1N1 flu can include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body ache, headache, chills, fatigue and sometimes vomiting and diarrhoea. But in certain cases, the effected person may not have fever. Sometimes influenza may also lead to serious health problems such as pneumonia and bacterial infections, which might require hospitalisation. In case of seasonal and 2009 H1N1, the virus may pass from the affected person from one day before contracting the disease to five to seven days after. However, in certain cases this period may be longer.
Cure
Antibiotics are powerful drugs used to treat certain bacterial infections and they should be taken exactly as prescribed by the physician. However, antibiotics don't work against viruses such as cold or flu. That means you don't have to take an antibiotic every time you fall sick. If used inappropriately, they can make the bacteria resistant to treatment – thus making it difficult to get cured. The best way to prevent flu is by getting a flu vaccination every year. Flu vaccines help in developing antibodies that protects us from influenza virus infection. While there are different flu viruses, the flu vaccine protects against three main flu strains that according to research are responsible for causing most of the diseases during the flu season. The vaccine can protect you from these three viruses or it can make the illness milder if you are infected by a different flu virus.
