We are all passionate about something or the other at different points of our life. But the question is how passionate are we? Do we go that extra mile to satisfy the thirst that a passion gives us? Well, here is a young Mohammed Taha Hussain, all of 19, who has made his passion, his everything...

He is the admin of ‘The Exotic Cars and Bikes in Chennai’ page on Facebook which is dedicated to the Super Cars and Bikes that trail the streets of Chennai. The page introduces its followers to the never-seen-before cars and bikes in Chennai by clicking pictures of them and uploading them on the Facebook page with facts about the vehicle. Not even a year old and the page recently reached 10,000 likes!

Taha is always on the lookout for such bikes and cars and ensures he has them clicked and uploaded. The ones who have liked the page and share the same passion help Taha with the ‘spotting syndrome’ too. This page almost does disproves the notion that Chennaiites do not invest in the latest super vehicles. One glance at the page and you are sure to be surprised to see what vehicles are on our roads.

NXg talks to his automobile enthusiast to find out what drives him…

When and what drove you to start this page?

I started this page on November 4, 2012. Other cities have a good page for automobiles which is well maintained but Chennai did not. So I wanted to start one for our city. This is my only interest and that helps in keeping the page active and going.

How different is your page from the other pages on Facebook?

My page is HD-oriented; quality over quantity. I don’t take pictures from anywhere and everywhere; they are either taken by me or someone sends them. Even if they send me somebody else’s photograph I will know, because I’m always on the internet updating myself. I update the page at least twice a day. I love to gather information and I get it confirmed as well. I read a lot and keep myself updated. Also, the likes and comments I’ve received speak for themselves.

How do you get in touch with the owners?

Directly or through people. I have my sources — garage owners, friends etc. The owners of the cars and bikes are curious but happy about the passion I have and that too at such a young age. Most of the owners are down-to-earth and chilled out. The first thing they ask me is if I’m from the media or the CBI.

Tell us more about the exhibition — Exotic Cars and Bikes — that you participated in?

That was for Anna University’s Pinnacle 2013. They approached me through the page and I was asked to get them a few bikes. It was an awesome show.

Are there any problems you’ve faced?

I wouldn’t say problems but a few issues like others copying my work, description and photos. When they do that it kills me; it's irritating too, because it’s a lot of effort that goes in. As soon as I get any information about a car or a bike, I drop everything I’m doing and I rush to the place. I prefer clicking pictures myself as it gives me an identity.

Out of all the cars and bikes you’ve spotted in Chennai, what are your favourites?

Cars: Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari 458 Italia

Bikes: E 1000 RR BMW, GSXR

Cars you would wish to see in Chennai?

Buggatti Veyron and SLR McLaren

If you ever own a car or a bike what would it be?

I love bikes more than cars. But I would like to own a GSXR (bike) and a Porsche Caymann S (car).

Your future plans, both for the page and yourself...

The current page is only limited to cars and bikes from Chennai. I want to expand it to all over Tamil Nadu. And meanwhile, I'm planning on doing a B. Tech in Automobile Engineering.
