This traditional game commonly played across Europe is a professional and competitive sport. In 1992, the World Darts Council (WDC) was formed and later became the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). The PDC tournaments have a considerable following, often with better prize money than other fixtures and featuring the leading player in the history of the game, 15-time World Champion Phil Taylor.
