Become a rockstar

If you think you are already one, here is the platform to showcase the musician in you. The Hindu NxG presents Rockstar — the ultimate College and High School music competition.

The Hindu NxG is conducting Rockstar, a musical competition exclusively for college and High School students of Tamil Nadu. Students of different colleges and schools can also participate as a band.

The competition will be held in categories like Acoustics, Rock, Acapella and Metal. The best band wins cash prize of Rs 50,000 and loads of other gift hampers. There are prizes for individuals as well as the band in each category. Interested bands can download the registration form, fill-in the details and mail it to nxgrockstarz@gmail.com on or before February 9, 2011.

The forms are available at Unwind Center too.

The prelims will be held at Unwind Center, 67, 3rd Cross Road, Gandhi agar, Adyar, Chennai on February 12, 2011. Five teams will be shortlisted in the prelims. The grand finale will be held on February 18, 2011 at YMCA Bucks Theatre, Nandanam, Chennai. The famous Indian rock band Indus Creed will give a special performance at the finale.
