Away from the bustle

Chennai has always yearned for a friendly and quiet restaurant that soothes the soul and stomach! Café! Ashvita has found its foot-hold in a city filled with eateries that caters to every taste bud. The tranquil ambience is truly out of the world. The unique outdoor seating in the garden under shade and a canopy of tree leaves with fresh breeze. The artificial waterfall and the sounds of the birds calm you down. This might just be the best place to go after a bad day with your boss! Yet, you might just want to move to the indoor seating to escape the flies.

Appetisers

Welcomed by a refreshing drink (in my case a peach ice tea) and this ambience, you'd be sure that this is where your taste buds will be pampered. Every platter offers you a four course meal that includes a soup, some starters, the main course and then the dessert. These are served all through the week but the appetizers that come along change every day. The fried corn, spring rolls, and chicken lollipops are all delicious. The meats for the kebabs are well marinated and each flavour is distinct. Every platter comes in both the vegetarian and the non-veg categories. And I must warn you that their non-vegetarian includes only chicken and mutton. By the time you have attempted to finish your starters, your stomach will be feeling well pampered and satiated!

On a platter

The main course contains substantial servings of any two dishes from the cuisine that you had chosen. At the end of the dessert, you would have decided that this was one meal that can't be forgotten. If you want something lighter, you could choose the Chaat Platter or the Momo platter. Though, I would personally suggest that you try both the vegetarian Asian platter and the non-veg Kebab platter. Yet, the choice of food is not much. There are only six items on the menu. But for those foodies in town, this is definitely a place to visit. The menu is also reasonably priced. Each platter costs between Rs. 200 and Rs. 350. Take along many friends, tons of time and lots of things to talk – for this is truly an amazing experience! This is just not a place to eat, but to greet and meet!
