I studied in Karnataka for 16 years and loved the State. My mother tongue is Tamil but I can only speak it; not read or write. I had a crazy goal: “Don’t ever enter Tamil Nadu and get fried in the heat; always chill in Karnataka and enjoy”.
Unfortunately, after a disappointing score in the Std. XII board exams, I was struggling to get an engineering seat in Karnataka. So I had to try options across the country. At last, Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya in Kanchipuram came to my rescue. When I was speaking to my friends about the university many of them started telling me that I would be soon seen sporting a dothi and become a saint, considering the fact that Kanchipuram has been a place of learning since ancient times. I ended up here in Tamil Nadu getting fried.
I wondered what the crowd would be like. Well, they were just like me! They had a similar attitude and a thirst to achieve. Soon, it turned out to be a set up like an NIT or an IIT where Students from all over India came here to study. Now I have settled down with my fellow students, speaking different languages, learning new languages and, of course, getting fried in the heat.
