Veteran director S. A. Chandrasekar, was recently in the city for the audio release of his new film Veluthu Kattu. The audio was earlier released in Chennai by his son, actor Vijay. They have already released the audio in Tirupur, Salem, Erode and Thanjavur. The film is supposed to be inspired by incidents that took place in Chandrasekar's own life.

Veluthu Kattu has seven melodious numbers. Shankar Mahadevan, Pallavi Surendar, Charulatha Mani have lent their voices to Singampatti written by Na. Kabilan. Oyhaya Irunda is an exciting duet from Anandhakudi Ilayaraja and Roshini, written by Na. Muthukumar. Tippu has pulled off Kirratha effortlessly. It is written by Snega and Roshini has her given best to Thalaseevi of Na. Muthukumar.

The music has been scored by Bharani. Vaishali, Shakti Praggadesh and Muthupandi are impressive in Kaakaiku written by Bharani. Another touching song anbulla , is written by Snegan. It is a letter to the lover, rendered with feeling by Bharani.

The film has many new faces. Newcomers Kathir and Arundathi are in the lead along with Archana Sharma and Bhavina who are also first timers. The film is directed by Senapathimagan. The film is slated for release on June 25.
