Varun

Whenever I visit Coimbatore, I return with a truckload of automobile parts for my classic bikes. Despite the temptation, I returned empty-handed from my recent trip. All I can think of now are diapers and Fisher Price toys — our child is on its way, and I have started being the responsible dad.

Kalpana

Considering that my husband can blow up any amount of money in five minutes, this is quite an achievement. So, comparatively, my style of money management may appear to be annoyingly calculative.

Varun

I give a part of my salary to run the house. The rest of it is spent the way I like. It's the same with her.

Kalpana

When we were courting, he uttered an impressive figure for his salary. He is yet to reach it.

Varun

I had entered a new job, and I told her the salary promised to me. Is it my fault that I was eventually given less than the promised amount?

Kalpana

I know my husband does not lie!

Varun

During our courtship, there were no lies. Only misconceptions. We met because two of our common friends suddenly thought we think similar. In no time, we got engaged. But, the path to the altar was tortuous. Differences cropped up; and we called off the engagement.

Kalpana

It was a traumatic period; now, when we look back, we are able to look at it with some amusement.

Varun

We got engaged again, thanks to a soulful chat. We decided to resurrect the wrecked relationship and keep working at it.

Kalpana

Marriage has not changed anything. We still see the need to keep working at our relationship. In fact, we are working at it harder. Qualities admired in a lover look different after marriage. Before marrying Varun, I liked his confidence. Now, it comes across as overconfidence... Our fights are a great source of humour in our lives. On our honeymoon in Indonesia, we had a memorable fight. As I walked off in a huff, I failed to notice a string and fell into a garbage can. When I climbed out of it, I was wreathed in smiles.

Varun

Both of us have been making a lot of adjustments. I used to fear marrying a girl who could not cook. My fear came true. But, she remedied the situation by taking cooking lessons from my mother.

Kalpana

My husband lives from meal to meal. I had to learn cooking.
