Men In Black producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald have revealed that a revival of the sci-fi franchise is in development at Sony Pictures, but without original star Will Smith.

According to the producing duo, the plan is to make a reinvented Men in Black trilogy.

“We’re in the middle of it. It’s very active,” said Parkes. He also hinted that Smith was unlikely to be involved in the possible revival of the franchise.

The last film, Men in Black 3 , was a commercial success, grossing USD 624 million at the worldwide box office when it was released in 2012.

Plans to make Men in Black 4 seemed to be merely rumours, as Smith shut it down, saying, “Three of anything is enough for me.” PTI
