When Bollywood celebrity couple, Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu decided to come to Bengaluru, little did Soha know that her husband had a surpise for her. The couple, who tied the knot earlier this year, was at Phoenix Marketcity on Thursday for a function at the Helios watch store. After some cheerful banter , Kunal gifted Soha with a Helios watch in true filmi style, totally sweeping her off her feet. “I’ve visited this city quite a few times and always had a wonderful time here. But after today’s surprise, it is going to be all the more special for me!,” beamed Soha.

The cool weather with the slightly overcast sky only added to the romantic mood. “I love the weather here! And the food is also something I look forward to when I come to the city,” she added.

Kunal adds: “It’s a very different city. I’ve come here often to visit my cousins. We used to spend a lot of time on M.G. Road. I have fond memories of the place.”

Talking about how marriage has changed her as a person, Soha explains: “Before I met Kunal, I felt my life was quite grey in a lot of ways. He brought in the much needed black and white! Neither of us had felt marriage was relevant but it really is one of the big decisions you make in life. I enjoy the comfort and security it provides me.”

In spite of the busy schedule, both of them “manage to find quality time for each other. We spend a lot of time at home, watching TV. We also love spending time with our dog,” Kunal said. He believes it is never easy to define marriage based on one’s experiences. “You can only share how you feel, not necessarily define it. And, anyway, it is too early for us to play the judge and jury. I’m happy, I feel I’ve married my best friend.”

On a scale of one to ten, how would they rate each other for being romantic? “I’d give Kunal a 12,” Soha replies, laughing. “He is innately romantic. It’s not really about what he does, but about who he is. Simple gestures that make someone feel loved and secure can mean a lot.” With a mischievous smile, Kunal responds, “I give Soha a 9! It’s always good to leave room for improvement.”

He names Rang De Basanti as his favourite movie featuring Soha while she says she loved Kunal in the 2013 zombie comedy, Go Goa Gone . Talking of upcoming projects, Soha has two movies lined up - Ghayal Once Again , which is a sequel to Ghayal (1990), and October 31st , a movie based on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Kunal’s forthcoming films include an action thriller, Bhaag Johnny , and a comedy Guddu Ki Gun . Having worked together in two movies, Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge and 99 , the couple say they wouldn’t mind doing another one, provided that it has good characters and a strong script.
