Tired of the humidity causing your hair to frizz up? The latest treatment from Kérastase, Discipline, promises to tame the frizz while letting you maintain the texture of your hair.

While it was launched worldwide late last year, the treatment finally made it to Chennai earlier this month.

Nandhini Raju, brand trainer at a city salon, says, “It does not alter the natural structure of the hair. That is to say, it does not straighten out curly or wavy hair, but gives it smoothness and movement.”

Explaining how it works, she says, “The main component is called morpho-keratin complex, which is a combination of amino acids, wheat protein extracts and ceramide-R. These work on the hair from inside by smoothening the fibres. It also has polymers, which envelop the hair to make it water-resistant and protect it from humidity.”

The 45-minute-long procedure starts with the Discipline shampoo. The hair is blow-dried till it is 80 per cent dried and then treated with the conditioner. The excess product is removed by blow-drying. As it is a heat-activated product, the hair is then ironed to lock it in. This is followed by a rinse and style. The treatment is said to last up to 10 washes and protect from humidity for up to 72 hours after each wash. It is also sulphate-free, which makes it more appealing than chemical straightening or smoothening.
