Smile Pleasefilming concludes

It’s a quick wrap up on the sets on Smile Please starring Gurunandan (of First Rank Raju fame) and Kavya Shetty.

The film has been written and directed by Raghu Samarth, who has written for noted TV serial director T.N. Seetharam for several of his serals.

The film was shot over 35 days in Bengaluru, Kanakapura, Padubidri, Sakleshpur and surrounding areas. Produced by K Manju, the film’s also canned all the songs for the film, except two, which will be shot soon.

You kind of know what to expect from the film, which comes with a tag line like 'Be Happy No BP'! J.S. Waali wields the camera, Jayanth Kaikini and Kaviraj have penned the lyrics while Anup Seelan has composed music.

The film also stars Neha Patil, Rangayana Raghu, Sudha Belawadi, Srinivasa Prabhu, Aruna Balraj and others.

Romcom Madha Mathu Manasi

Madha Mathu Manasi , a film being described as an adventurous love story by its star Prajwal Devaraj is now getting ready for a mid-June release. Prajwal is the son of famous yesteryear Kannada actor Devaraj, who made his debut with the Kannada film Sixer in 2007.

The film co-stars Shruti Hariharan, who after doing theatre and working as a background dancer in films, worked her way up into a career in acting. She debuted in the 2012 Malayalam film Cinema Company but what really got her noticed was the Kannada film Lucia

The romantic comedy is written and directed by Sathish Pradhan, the man who made Abhinetri, based on the life of film star Kalpana.

Madha Mattu Manasi has been co-produced and music composed by noted composer Mano Murthy. Filming has been completed in Bengaluru, Madikeri and Mattur and took over a good five months to complete.

The film’s songs have gathered steam and great expectations ride on it, with singers Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher, and Shankar Mahadevan singing over six songs in it! While ‘Bareyada Geetheya’ is penned by Jayanth Kaikini, the title track and other songs have been penned by the director himself.

Poonam Pandey promises a scare

Controversial actor Poonam Pandey (who came in the spotlight when she promised to strip for the Indian cricket team if it won the Cricket World Cup in 2011) will make her Sandalwood debut in a Kannada horror flick, which was launched over a week ago.

She had apparently told Telugu director Yuvaraj that she was keen on acting in a Kannada film. Yuvraj too had been waiting for an opportunity to direct a movie in Kannada. The rest, as they say, is kismet and karma as the two come together. Poonam made her filmi debut with the Bollywood flick Nasha in 2013.
