The online boom has opened up avenues we never thought could exist, and has placed endless possibilities right in our laps. We have seen start–ups become major companies, and acquiring things has become a lot easier.

Online shopping has ensured that we can buy things right from where we are, and get them delivered at our doorstep.

While this is true of almost everything, we have never seen an online marketplace for construction items. But, venturing into uncharted waters, Infra Bazaar, a company based in Hyderabad, has created an online marketplace for items that will be required by anyone in the infrastructure and construction industry.

The company has recently launched its app, making it convenient for builders to get the goods they want. The app is fairly simple. On firing up, it asks you to register and directs you to a page where you can buy, sell, rent, or auction an item. You can also search for something specific if you know exactly what you want. The app has a basic design, keeping the target audience in mind. It does away with the unnecessary and focuses solely on the ease of the user.

If you wish to sell or auction something, you can create a listing right in the app, click a picture, and upload it. The option of auctioning lets you bid for existing second-hand items on sale. You can also auction something that you have.

The Reverse Auction part of the app is quite interesting. Suppose, you need a Transit Mixer that costs about $50,000 in the market, instead of going to a dealer, you can advertise your requirement on the app.

Those who have new ones can quote their price, which will be significantly lower than the market price. You can then select the one that suits your budget and get more competitive quotes without spending too much time and in a transparent way.
