Ingredients
Sago – 1/2 cup
Medium sized potatoes – 3
Onion – 1
Green chillies – 2
Coriander leaves – 1/4 bunch
Bengal gram flour – 1/2 tsp
Roasted peanuts – 1/4 cup
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
Oil for deep frying
Salt – To taste
Cooking instructions
Soak Sago in salted water for a minute and then drain the water. Steam the potatoes in a pressure cooker for eight minutes and then peel the skin and smash them.
Peel the skin of peanuts and coarsely powder them. Chop coriander, onion and green chillies and mix all the above ingredients together and knead well into a dough. Make small balls out of the dough. Oil your palms and flatten each ball and then make a small hole in the middle. Deep fry the flattened balls in oil. The vadais are ready to serve.
