Some could mistake Arjun Kapoor for being just another guy next door. He has no airs of a star son – Arjun is Boney Kapoor’s son – and in conversation he comes across as a well grounded man. As he says, “I am just a simple guy. It is very typical. It all depends on my mood, yes you can say that I am moody, laidback and ambitious .

Arjun also starts his days on a simple note.

“Most of the times I start my day with black coffee in the morning. I really love to have breakfast and I think it is the most important meal of the day. Desh ki baki awam ki tarah main bhi ande hi khata hoon. I like scrambled eggs. My dadi used to cook lal maas or jungli mutton very well. It’s a famous Rajasthani dish. It is one thing that I cannot live without.”

Unlike actors of 1970s and 1980s, the present generation of actors is careful about what and how much they consume.

Like many of his compatriots, Arjun likes to carry home cooked food whenever he is shooting in Mumbai.

“If there is an outdoor shoot then I have to make arrangements from hotel. Most of the times, I carry my own tiffin because we have to take care of our health. If we fall ill then the entire crew could be disturbed. Sometimes it can even lead to postponement of the shooting schedule.”

Though the actor is extra careful when it comes to health he at times throws caution into the wind and enjoys digging into roadside eateries.

“I love roadside food too. Main bahut bada chatora hoon.”

The macho actor, who sports a good physique, likes to hit the gym where he exercises with his personal trainer.

“I do not perform yoga at all. I like going to the gym, like any other simple guy. I work out for around an hour.”

Though Arjun would one day like to be a filmmaker like his father, for the moment, he wants to use his gym-toned body as an actor. “Well, I just want to entertain people. I don’t want to hold on to a single character, I always try to be a versatile actor… I want to present big canvas and show characters as larger-than-life.”

In this Internet age, when actors are corresponding with their fans intermittently on social networking sites, Arjun also made himself available on Twitter and already has a large number of his fans are in touch with him.

“A few months ago, I joined Twitter to open up as an individual. It is very common nowadays. For the film-going audience, I wish I could serve them in a better way. My message to my fans is thank you all for giving me this love and respect all the time, I love you all.”
