Three days of some of the best of Slovenian films at the SIFC

The Republic of Slovenia brings its cinema to the city, in a film festival organised the Embassy in New Delhi and the Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation. The screenings will be held from February 25 to 27 at the South Indian Film Chamber Theatre.

The opening film is “Rooster’s Breakfast”, in which a young Italian worker is persuaded by his friend to take on the job of a night watchman for easy money. But, reality is more macabre than he had expected it to be. It will be screened at 6.15 p.m.

“Installation of Love”, on February 26 at 6.30 p.m. is a bizarre satire, constructed as a film in a film, within another film; a search for love, and how to rediscover it in the larger sense.

At 6.15 p.m. on February 27, it’s “Transition”, in which artist Vlado paints the portrait of an unknown woman, only to have her show up at the opening of his exhibition. “Blind Spot” will be screened at 8 p.m., the story of Gladki, who is rescued by his sister Lupa after he flees from a hospital. As she tries to break his addiction to heroin, old memories resurface, leaving Lupa to fight for her own freedom.
