GoComics is a free app that does mostly anything you could want from it in terms of content.
Its paid version (it comes with in–app paid subscriptions) does away with one of the main factors of irritation – the adverts.
But, for a fan of comics, it is an ideal addition to one’s collection, irrespective of its issues.
GoComics is a portal that houses most of the popular comic strips in the world, in addition to those by some great up and coming artists. It has plenty of political cartoons as well, all sensibly categorized according to political leanings.
You can just dive straight in and find your favourites, with Calvin and Hobbes, Garfield, and Peanuts playing a major part in the appeal.
All you have to do is tap on a name and their latest comic strip shows up, complete with a calendar so you can go back to any date you wish to. It is fast to browse and easy to get lost in and lose track of time.
The new comics section has some great new creations that are offered the same service as established names. The app has adverts that you have to put up with.
They are constantly displayed at the bottom of the screen and are quite ugly, and yet a necessary evil that must be borne with for the convenience of browsing so much content with so much ease, for free.
You can pay $1.99 a month or $15.99 a year to get rid of these.
