Before you enter, you are distracted by the cleverly designed garden and sprawling greenery surrounding the store. A beautifully embellished Ganesha greets you at the entrance of Wild Rose Store, a new home décor studio. It might seem like another home décor store, only it has a different purpose. This studio, a happy association of sisters Divya and Ritu Jhaver, supports educating women with their proceeds.
Creative outletA sense of purpose and an outlet for their creativity made them turn Wild Rose into a full-fledged store after many stints at exhibitions. “We felt the need to support college education for deserving women. Since the store is in our house, it cuts down costs facilitating our vision,” says Divya Jhaver.
Their love for all things sparkly and kitsch reflects in their products — which are all hand-made. It houses designer wall clocks, notebooks, candle stands, slings, serving trays, dustbins, quirky mats and more. Playful usage of pearls, sequins, peacock feathers, stones and wooden work is eveident in their creations.
The ‘Wild Yogis’ hand-painted caricatured clocks of yogis in various poses draw our attention. One in particular stands out — a yogi in meditation with real rudhrakshas for the numbers. They also stock ‘yantras’, geometrical depiction of Gods, and draws energy. Besides pepping up your living spaces, these pieces can make for gifting options too.
