For actor Karan Kundra, physical exercise is as important as eating everyday
Be it reel or real life, be it being a model, an actor and also a businessman, Karan Kundra says he enjoys every role that life has offered him. Having gained laurels for his role in the tele-serial Kitani Mohabbat Hai on NDTV Imagine and Gumrah Season 2 on Channel V, Karan has decided to take a shot at the big screen. He has signed a three-film contract with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and is also currently doing another film with Prateik Babbar for Shailesh Singh (the producer of Tanu Weds Manu).
For Karan, the mantra for success is attaining a fit body. “Fitness requires regular workouts. It needs hard work and consistency to get a perfect shape. Your diet should be balanced and the thumb rule is regular exercise,” states Karan.
Always busy with shoots, Karan hardly gets time to exercise in between shots. He says he rather not do it that way. Instead, the Jallandhar boy says he prefers workouts before or after the shoots.
“If I sleep less because of it, it’s fine by me. But I can never miss out on a gym session which leaves me fresh and is of utmost importance for me,” he says.
Karan prefers a high protein diet with less carbohydrate content.
He normally avoids oily stuff and a heavy meal. Lots of curd and salads provide him the necessary energy which an actor often needs to meet up the challenge of a hectic shooting schedule.
In his views, a person must know about his nutrition needs. He prefers eating a banana post workout and feels apple is the best energy enriched source.
“A person must take out at least 45 minutes from his busy schedule to workout daily. Exercise should be a regular fixture in one’s schedule,” he highlights.
Karan feels regular exercises including yoga and walking can decrease the risk of many diseases which have gripped today’s generation. So an exercise regime should be a vital part of one’s life. “If I don’t forget to eat, how can I forget to workout,” he says. Well put!
