Getting fit does not have to be an unpleasant experience. With just a small investment of time and energy it is easy to improve the average person’s health.

Ronny Moriabadi from the University of Applied Sciences in Saarbrucken, Germany recommends engaging in weight training one or two times a week and endurance training two or three times.

A training session only has to last between 20 and 30 minutes to show improvement in health. The important thing is that you exercise regularly and not how long you exercise.

If you are too busy, or do not want to workout, try breaking up the sessions into smaller units spread throughout the day. You can begin in the morning by doing leg and back exercises in bed after you wake up. That is the best way to launch the day, says Dr. Moriabadi.

You can also use the time in your car spent waiting at a traffic light by relaxing muscles or engaging in neck exercises. You can use the time you would normally wait for an appointment by going for a walk. And why not do a few foot gymnastics while travelling in the underground to prevent varicose veins?
