After the success of Vicky Donor , actor Ayushmann Khurrana is now basking in under the glory of Dum Laga Ke Haisha .

He was in the Capital recently as the brand ambassador of Datsun, the automobile giant which celebrated its first anniversary in India. Known to possess high-end luxury cars like Mercedes and BMW, Ayushmann voiced a plan to buy a Datsun soon. However, he is not a guy who goes for a long drive every now and then. He is more into jogging.

“I am a compulsive jogger, I can jog anytime. If I am busy shooting then I do skipping, I always keep my skipping ropes in my vanity van,” tells Ayushmann.

The actor also practises yoga for wellness but there’s no fixed fitness mantra.

It varies from time to time depending upon the demand of the role he is to play at that time.

He says, “You have to listen to your body and understand what it requires.

Every body type is different. As far as my fitness regimen is concerned it completely depends on the kind of role I play.

For instance, for my character in Dum Laga Ke Haisha , I used to lift my trainer and run as I had to lift Bhumi (his onscreen wife) in the film. I also did a lot of yoga and for Bewakoofiyaan I did a lot of weight training.”

When it comes to food, he prefers to be a vegetarian at home but while travelling he also eats non-vegetarian food. “I am a vegetarian, I love aloo paranthas very much but while travelling I have to take non-vegetarian food also especially butter chicken. I am a complete foodie.

My mind does not work if I am not well-fed. I eat at regular intervals.”

Ayushmann is a teetotaller. He stays away from drinks and cigarettes. Explains Ayushmann, “I love to do real life characters, I want to connect with the audience.

My next film will also be a slice of life where I play a normal man, shooting of which will start in the next two-three months.”

Noting that he has to maintain a normal body type, Ayushmann says, “For instance in Dum Laga Ke Haisha I played a normal man of the 90s living in a city like Hardwar.

If he had six pack abs it would not have suited and appeared odd.

So to summarise, I can say that my fitness regime completely depends on the roles I play.”
