“Eat sensibly is a prime factor for good physic,” said actor Simone Singh who was widely recognised for her title role in television serial “Heena”. Her debut film was “The Bond of Love” in 2001, though she was acclaimed for her role in “Being Cyrus”. She has served on the jury of the first International Emmy Awards held in India in 2005.
Simone said to keep fit one must have a strict diet plan though sticking to it is not always possible. She said one must consciously choose food for one’s diet. The actor said that she did not visit the gym on a daily basis but strictly believes that whatever one decides to eat is reflected in his or her body. She prefers Indian food and includes the green leafy vegetables in her selection of food.
“Fitness is not concerned with only the physique but it is equally important for mental peace also,” said Simone. Since her busy schedule does not allow her to attend gym on a regularly she practises yoga – which she loves – whenever time permits her to do so. “Yoga cannot give the six packs which is in vogue nowadays but surely it keeps you mentally fit at both professional and personal level,” explained Simone.
The actor is aware of the fact that the public wants to see her physically as well as mentally fit and hence she makes effort and spares time to take care of her fitness. While giving credit of her fitness to yoga and conscious eating she does not forget to mention one very important element -- happiness. Commenting that happiness is also a part of fitness Simone said it comes automatically on face in the shape of smile if someone is mentally fit.
At present busy with her next venture on television “Ek Hasina Thi” in which she essays the role of Sakshi, mother of the male protagonist. The serial will be aired on Star Plus from April 14 at 8 p.m. Simone said there were grey shades in the character played by her in the serial.
