Hitting the gym might be a fitness mantra for many, but for actor Chitrangada Singh, the secret behind her well-toned body lies in kickboxing. Chitrangda does not like limiting herself to cardio or running on tracks and believes in taking an unconventional path.

The actor in her mid 30s and mother of a two-year-old includes stand-up combat sports based on kicking and punching in her regular fitness schedule. “It works more than a drill for me. Practising it eight minutes a day helps me stay fit, strong and energetic,” says Chitrangda, who has been seen in films like Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi, Ye Saali Zindagi, Desi Boyz and I Me Aur Main , etc.

Besides she is also into swimming, tennis, cricket and golf. Not a fitness freak, the vibrant artiste likes to remain healthy in the most natural way.

Coming from an army background, she says her father always made sure that she plays one or the other sports throughout her childhood. Yoga is another passion, which she says is ideal for people in the business of entertainment. It helps in keeping the stress at bay. Talking about her diet, the hardcore non-vegetarian says that she takes five meals a day which comprise three big ones and two snack meals at an interval of three hours each. Chitrangda quips, “I am what I eat!”
