Hair colour is not bad but it should be done professionally, says Jawed Habib.

Many people like long hair and try numerous methods to get long healthy hair. Expensive hair care products, oils, treatments…the list is endless. Hair growth is an internal process and anything external is just a waste of time if done only with the purpose of growing hair. Long hair looks good but it is not always healthy to grow hair beyond a certain length.

In fact, many times, long hair is the unhealthiest and it results in maximum hair fall. You must always cut hair regularly to maintain its shape, health and remove dead ends. Carry a length which is easy for you to maintain regularly. If your hair is thin and weak do not grow it. Don't follow random regimes or treatments for hair growth. Instead ask professionals for help. Make sure you eat healthy and improve your diet. Drink a lot of fluids. Exercise regularly to keep your body fit. It is important to sleep well. Growing and maintaining long and healthy hair is not easy. Remember that the health of the hair is more important than the length.

JAWED ANSWERS

I colour my hair very often. Is it bad for my hair?- Reema

Hair colour is not bad but it should be done professionally. Professionals know what brands to use and what’s not harmful.

My hair looks flat. What should I do to make it look full?

- Netra

You must wash it regularly. Get a good hair cut from a professional to add bounce to your hair. You cannot change the texture, so do things that can make it look better through styling.
