1. ) Would you believe it — but big brows are in. Power brows seem to be trending everywhere right from ramps to magazine covers. Take a look at Cara Delvingne, Miranda Kerr and Penelope Cruz. Stylists also believe that big bushy brows make a face look younger.

2. ) In the age of Facebook and Instagram repeating clothes is often a worry. Here’s a sneaky trend that allows you to repeat your favourite dresses by just wearing a skirt over it. Give those pencil skirts, wraparounds and pleated minis a new role, that of masquerading as aprons. When Donna Karan takes a trend seriously, you might as well too.

3.) French manicure is classy, yes. But it’s time for a change. Negative space technique in art now makes it way to your nails. It’s the blank part of nail between different shades and patterns that adds a touch of drama. It’s where classy meets fun.

4. ) The Legally Blonde one, Reese Witherspoon, has traded her golden locks for deep brown. Need we say more? Chocolate, dark browns and rich auburns are what your mane needs this season. Sceptical about colouring hair? Try the subtle ombre look by colouring the tips of your hair.

5. ) There is something about men in military greensThis shade of green is in the spotlight now. Think beyond shirts and baggy pants in camouflaged prints. There’s enough for women as well in the form of dresses, peplum tops, fitted skirts and jackets.

6.)  Louis XVI wore it. But his was different from what our grandmothers and mothers wore. The garment in question — culottes. Yes, those lengthy, billowing shorts continue to be in trend in 2015 as well. In varying lengths and silhouettes, culottes have transitioned from lazy brunch outfits to work wear as well. Team them with fitted shirts or blazers and stilettos to complete the look.

7.) Talking about blasts from the past, gladiator flats are back and thriving. In knee-length, calf-length and ankle length, this footwear sure can up the style quotient. Invest in a pair as these are apt for any place be it the beach, movies or even the office cubicle.

8.) The one shoulder look is classy and lets you show off a bit of skin without going overboard. Since it can be tricky to carry off, it’s time to lift that kettlebell and tone your shoulders and arms. For those new to the trend, start off with solid colours and stay clear of clingy materials.

9.)  Say hello to the Pantone colour of 2015. It’s marsala, a full-bodied wine red shade. Rihanna sported a lipstick of this shade to the Annual Diamond Ball this month. Marsala is not totally new to the cosmetic shade cards. It’s something our mothers probably sported, a decade or two back. So, are we ready for those wine-kissed lips, tips and toes?

10.) It’s flat, comfy and oh so trendy. No wonder the Milan Fashion Week had funky flats in the form of sandals and sliders. And if they are by Dolce and Gabbana and Fausto Puglisi, rest assured they are far from grungy. The market is full of pocket-friendly versions as well. Which means you can scamper about town in comfortable flats.

11.) Normcore has now gotten its pale fingers around hairstyles. Predictably enough, the trend is to have normally messy hair, in messy braids and ponytails. The irony is that people will actually be heading to the hairdressers to make their hair look dishevelled. Heading to the bar straight from a painfully long workout at the gym suddenly seems like a great idea.

12.) Though sheer has been in vogue, it’s the sheer skirts that are winning the popularity contest. Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang and Lela Rose have spun these skirts into their collections. A mix of bold and feminine, these see-through skirts in lace, tulle, and chiffon let you mysteriously show off those legs. Experiment with the length of the lining or tuck in an oversized shirt and for the daring — team it with a high rise trunk.

13.) For fans of the conservative style, here’s to high necklines. With Prada and Christian Dior investing in this trend, high collars, turtlenecks, buttoned ups are all très chic.

14.) The diva of the 70s, suede, makes a comeback in the form of overcoats, belted dresses, skirts, and tunics in more than just boring browns and olives. This light material now comes in a host of vibrant colours such as blue, pink, yellow.

15.) We aren’t new to tassels. In India, saris and dupattas have always had tassels enhancing their appeal. And now it’s a micro trend in 2015. Multicoloured tassels on dresses, skirts, and even pants add a bohemian touch to the look.
