Rhea Kapoor describes herself on Twitter as “Film producer. Stylist. Food and puppy enthusiast”. Though ushered into famedom as actor Anil Kapoor’s younger daughter, she came into her own as a stylist for her famous actor-sister and fashionista Sonam Kapoor, besides as producer for Ayesha .

“It is easier being Sonam’s stylist, than her sister,” she confesses when asked which is the more challenging job of the two. “We have healthy discussions on style. We usually agree on what looks good. I love being stylish, but my sense of practicality overtakes my adventurous side. I use that side with Sonam and get it out of my system,” says Rhea, who has studied theatre in New York — a city that allows you to do more in terms of fashion, she feels.

New York is where she picked up her love for vintage fashion — something that she has pretty much established as her style working with vintage jackets, suits and jewellery while putting together Sonam’s look.

“I usually find vintage stuff in flea markets and stores. I once found a men’s riding jacket made in 1901 in a non-descript store in LA. That is now one of my cherished vintage picks and my favourite winter jacket. I also love the zari from my mother’s old saris. My mother has a lovely collection of saris.”

The unassuming Rhea thinks that Sonam is yet to have a sexy phase. “That’s something I will work on with her.” Right now, being Sonam’s official stylist for the Cannes Film Festival 2014, Rhea is getting her sister ready to walk the red carpet amid media glare. But as for her, a corset suit or tuxedo will make up her red carpet look.
