Translate will showcase their new collection of ready to wear, “The Revivalist’s Soul”, in handwoven ikat textiles today and tomorrow.
The collection includes tops, tunics, reversible jackets, dresses, kurtas, pallazos, stoles, dupattas, scarves and saris for women; formal shirts and kurtas for men and atypical smart wear designs for children.
The garments are available in petite to plus sizes in vibrant shades of red, orange and indigo.
“We have worked with bold patterns in double ikat in this collection, also bringing out layered clothing in jackets, stoles or scarves, which are suitable for the Bangalore climate. We have focused on contemporary urban, effortless and elegant design that can be worn for both casual and formal occasions. Our collection of ready to wear is hard to find in ikat,” says Vinita Passary of Translate.
“Our textiles are composed of handwoven double ikat, a tradition which is almost extinct. Our label focuses on handwoven ikat and our textiles are made solely for our label. The fabric is soft, skin-friendly and easy to wash since the colours don’t run.”
The collection is Rs. 2000 upwards.
“The Revivalist’s Soul” will be on display at Raintree, near ITC Windsor, today and tomorrow between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. For details, contact 32723251, 22354396.
