How about flaunting the colour of love this Valentine season?

Red hearts, red balloons, red flowers, red icing on cakes even...suddenly the colour is all over. Given its Valentine's Day and its the colour of love but how about graduating from red balloons to something different…red hair perhaps?

It's not just about pouty red lips, the flaming red shade is the most recommended colour for your tresses this season. Be it those bouncy curls or chic buns and sleek plaits, a dash of red adds character to it all. As was evident at the Naturals fashion show, where models in black walked the ramp with a tinge of red to accentuate their hair dos. The event marked the launch of Naturals' 125th beauty salon in India and also the launch of the Keune Magic Box.

Keune is a Netherlands-based brand with a host of hair care products ranging from colours and serums to hair potions and lotions. The newly launched Magic Box has a set of eight products, which includes colours — a variety of reds and some blondes, volumisers, protein sprays and shampoos.

“One of the USPs of Keune's hair colours is that you don't have to bleach your hair prior to colouring it. For example if you want to get a portion of your hair done in red or blonde the stylist can just apply it directly,” says Sanjeev Korada of Glosel India Impex, the distributor of Keune in India. According to him, the products are well-suited to Indian hair types as they are coconut oil and silk protein based.

For lovers of straight, shiny hair there's good news. Keune also launches keratin treatment. “This three-hour long process leaves your hair looking straight and glossy. The most important thing is that it doesn't contain formaldehyde,” he says.

Apart from Keune, Naturals has also tied up with Matis Paris, a 75-year-old skin care brand. “They have a range of anti acne, anti ageing, pigmentation balancing treatments,” says Sanjeev. As for this brand there were no models to flaunt the wonders of Matis but if one is to go by the taut and near perfect skin of 60-year-old Daniel Ranoult, business development manager, Matis, then this product seems worth a try.
