What do most people do on bad hair days? Some wear a hat, a bandana or a hair band, or tie up their hair in an unflattering ponytail, while the less adventurous simply sit at home. There's the salon, but for office-goers, spending time there first thing in the morning certainly isn't an option. So, how about wigs as a solution?
Wigs have been around for a while but not many are open to the idea because they don't know where to get one. Also there is the common belief that wigs are for the balding. Not anymore. In the West, it's usual for women to have at least three or four such hair pieces to sport a different look for different occasions.
To celebrate the 150th salon launch of Naturals, we were introduced to Wig-O-Mania.com, a U.K.-based company that will offer its range of wigs and hair extensions exclusively through Naturals. From wavy hot pink mane, boisterous curls and short blonde bob to electric blue extensions, bouncy waves and bangs, the models showcased the hair pieces as they energetically grooved to ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun'.
The fashion show that was choreographed by Sheetal Sharma also saw models display outfits designed by Raj Shroff of Ravage. Shroff's bridal range comprised saris, lehengas and blouses in pastel hues with delicate embellishments, uneven silhouettes and floral appliqué work on the borders. Perfect for the bride who believes in understated elegance.
The showstopper, Bruna Abdullah looked lovely in a cool blue ankle grazing dress, her perfect figure getting as much attention.
Following the fashion show, G. Venket Ram, Bruna, Aseem Kaushik of L'Oreal and C.K. Kumaravel launched The Bridal Look Book with photographs by Venket Ram.
