Catching up with summer trends

As the sun gets hotter we get together three famous and media-savvy fashion bloggers to give some notes on summer’s key trends.

Shopping philosophy

- Don’t be afraid to experiment Favourite look

- Midi skirt, palazzo pants, high-waist trousers or a regular pair of jeans with a crop top.

Summer colours: Pastels. Pastels. Pastels. Day or night, luncheon or night out, work or fun! This summer the ambidextrous pastel rules everywhere. Nude pink skater dress, mint green crop top or sky blue maxi, the list is endless.

Season’s trendsSports luxe : Athletic wear-meets-luxury — like sneakers with a dress.

X- Ray dressing: Sheer is here in a big way! Transform your run-of-the-mill T-shirt and blue jeans look into something extraordinary with a sheer top over the T-shirt.

3D Florals : The favourite florals takes on a dramatic look with 3D effect. It’s a great do-it-yourself too. Simply buy few artificial flowers and stick it onto a regular top!

Style tip: Be a solitude shopper and concentrate on putting together that perfect dream piece

Must-haves: A ballooned midi skirt, tea length shirtdress, typographic tees and a nice pair of sneakers!

Wardrobe essentials: Crop top, maxi dress, white shirt, well fitted pair of jeans, a nice gold watch, UV-protected wayfarers, a bracelet, comfortable flat sandals.

Accessories: Feather jewellery, buckle rings, over-sized neckpieces, headgear, a retro watch with arm candy and fringe bags and shoes.

Motto: Stressed or depressed but always well-dressed!

Shopping philosophy: Look forward to surprises.

Travel fashion tip: Find something that imbibes the aesthetic of the place you are visiting.

Online treasure sites: Asos.com, Koovs and FrontRowShop.com.

Favourite look: Simple denim shorts and vintage tees with minimal or no accessories.

Colours: The all-white look is gorgeous. Pastels give a cool feel in this sultry weather.

Trends: Braids and messy up-dos to keep the hair off the face. Metallic eye shadow to highlight the corners of the eye, bright lipstick and lots of mascara with a nude make-up look is ideal for this weather. In terms of clothing, it’s the revival of the 90’s grunge-look .

Must-haves: Lip balm, large floppy hats, comfy footwear like flat forms, rogues and loafers.

Accessories: Cat eye and round sunglasses as well as Lennon’s and vintage designs. I love transparent handbags to style my outfit.

Shopping philosophy: Be a smart shopper — quality items at budget prices.

Travel fashion tip: Bifurcate daywear and party outfits. Always carry extra pair of heels.

Online treasure sites: romwe.com, persunmall.com, revolveclothing.com, lotusmendes.com and shopbop.com, donebynone.com, limeroad.com

Favourite look: Leather skater skirt with a crop top.

Colours: Soft hues such as powder pink, sea foam, peachy nude, lavender, and sorbet.

Trends: Currently I am in love with the leather trend for summer. Incorporating leather in dresses adds an edge. Mixing and matching pastel colours is making the rounds on the fashion circuit.

Must-haves: White sunglasses, leather skirt, crop top and of course pastel colour dress or jeans.

Wardrobe essentials: Black or blue jeans, silk white blouse, leopard heels, a ballerina, scarf, black blazer, A-line leather skirt, statement sunglasses and structured black bag.

Accessories: Crystal necklace, statement earrings and midi rings.

Fashion advice: Refine top trends to suit your personal needs. Have a signature style, which sets you apart.
