In an age where fashion changes at a blink of an eye, timeless is a word associated with diamonds. These dazzling stones are always in style. Cashing in on this, Bhima Jewellers has launched their new collection – ‘Diamonds from Bhima’ – across showrooms in South India.

Managing director of Bhima, Suhas Rao says: “When once people bought diamonds as an investment, now, it is all about fashion.”

Gayatri Suhas, Suhas’ wife, who helps manage the store, says: “Women want that touch of glam and style to their jewellery and I’ve paid attention to detail in each of the pieces in our store.”

The collection comes in a stunning array of neckpieces, drops, bangles and pendants. The neckpieces range from chains to chokers with designs inspired by flowers, peacocks and butterflies, even eagles for those who want to make a strong statement. One can detach the pendant from the neckpiece. Some also come with a choice of three stones to fix in the diamond-encrusted pendant frame so there’s no worry of it being a piece for one-time wear. Pear, marquis and RBCs (Round Brilliant Cut) make the designs alluring. A string of solitaires and matching drops are perfect for a formal evening. The diamonds cost between Rs. 6,000 and Rs. 25 lakhs. Eighteen karat pendant and earrings sets come for Rs. 25,000.

Matching earrings, be they drops or studs, are available for every occasion be it a day at work, a formal dinner or a grand wedding.

The drops are show-stoppers by themselves, again with ideas heavily drawn from nature. A pair of peacock earrings, the tails set in sparkling diamonds, an enamel body and a ruby eye beckon enticingly. “The heavy work on the earrings rule out the need for a matching neckpiece,” says the salesperson. Traditional and contemporary designs vie for attention in the collection of bangles. Bhima also custom makes pieces.

“Our diamonds come with a 100 percent buy-back guarantee. What’s best, the jewellery is crafted by our in-house designers.

Experts are involved at every stage,” Gayatri says. And so the saying ‘diamonds are a girl’s best friend’ holds true.
