Mix ground almonds with curd and use it as a facial scrub, rubbing it gently on the skin with circular movements. Wash it off. Mixing rice powder with curd and using it as a scrub helps oily skin. Add a pinch of turmeric (haldi) to curd and apply it daily. Wash it off after 20 to 30 minutes. Mix cucumber and papaya pulp with one teaspoon of curd, one teaspoon of honey, 4 teaspoons of oatmeal and one teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply it on the face and the neck, twice a week, and wash it off after half an hour.

Avoid shaving or hair removing creams, which cause darkening of the skin under the arms. Waxing is the best option. The lemon and sugar mixture used for waxing by beauty parlours will itself lighten the skin colour over time. Mix besan, curd, lemon juice and a little haldi (turmeric) and apply it at least three times a week. Wash it off after half an hour. For the neck, massage the area daily with til oil.

Dandruff can lead to hair loss. If there is dandruff, avoid conditioner, as it can clog the pores of the scalp and only aggravate the problem. For dandruff, apply a non-oily herbal hair tonic on the scalp daily, using cotton wool, and leave it on. Avoid massaging the scalp. Part the hair into sections and apply the tonic on the scalp. Wash your hair with a mild herbal shampoo three or four times a week, using just a little shampoo and taking care to rinse it off well. Half an hour before a shampoo wash, lightly massage our head with two tablespoons of vinegar on the scalp. Once a week, heat olive oil or til oil and apply it on the scalp at night. Leave it on overnight. The following morning, apply the juice of a lemon 15 minutes before a shampoo wash. You should include fresh fruits, raw salads, sprouts and yogurt in your daily diet. Drink six to eight glasses of water daily. Add the juice of a lemon to a glass of water and drink it first thing in the morning.
