The fifth edition of The Little Festival, an international theatre festival for young audiences, will take place in the city from July 3 to 10.
Three productions will be showcased this year at the Museum Theatre in Egmore. Atita!... The Curse of the Xeno, scripted and directed by B. Krishnakumar (KK), will be staged on July 3 and 4 at 11 a.m. and July 5 at 3 p.m.
Mediatheque Theatre from Israel will present Butterfly Kiss — a one-woman, non-verbal show for young children, combining music, video-art, animation, puppetry and shadow — at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on July 7.
From South Korea, performance group Taroo will present The Tiger With White Eyebrows on July 9 at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. and July 10 at 11 a.m. This is a Pansori musical with four singers as storytellers. Each storyteller occasionally transforms into a one-thousand-year-old tiger or a child, presenting and singing a story.
As part of the festival, The British Council will be hosting two panel discussions. ‘Look at it Differently’ on July 10 at 7 p.m. will be a discussion on how one looks at things differently while being creative. ‘Good Morning Art!’ on July 11 at 7 p.m. will discuss the need for arts education in school and how it can help children perform better in academics.
