Sunburn, Asia’s largest electronic dance music brand, comes to the city for the first time

“I am really looking forward to performing at one of the first open air festivals to happen in Chennai under a big banner like Sunburn,” says Vijay Chawla, a DJ at one of the popular night clubs in the city. Percept Live, in collaboration with Global Sound a property of Sparkkz Event Management, and Cloud 9 Entertainment organise the first music festival in Chennai under Sunburn, Asia’s largest electronic dance music brand. On June 14, music lovers in Chennai will be in for an extravaganza with Sunburn premiering with its Reload avatar at the VGP Resort on East Coast Road.

“We have been seeing an increasing number of Sunburn fanbase from Chennai which led us to believe that the festival will be a huge hit with music lovers here. We want to ensure more and more Sunburn fans can have the brand experience on their home turf,” said Karan Singh, CEO, Sunburn.

The line-up of artistes for the night include Canadian disc jockey and producer DJ Arnej, the second highest ranked Trance DJ who will be headlining the show, DJ Shaan, DJ Kash Thrivedi and two of our own famous Chennai-based DJs , DJ Vijay Chawla and DJ Arjun Hora. With an interesting mix of popular and upcoming talent, state-of-the-art technical set-up and mind-blowing visuals among other highlights, the audience are sure to enjoy the experience.

“I guess a lot of people in Chennai are looking forward to Sunburn. A lot of friends are waiting for it and even I am very happy to be playing under a big banner,” said DJ Arjun. “My playlist is going to be a bit different with deep techno this time with ‘traktor’ and ‘ableton’ with some new FX.” With varied styles of electronic dance music being played at the event with the promise of spectacular experiences, Sunburn Reload is bound to take music festivals in the country to a whole new level.

The expected turnout for the event is between 2,500 to 3,000 people. A special VIP lounge featuring an elevated viewing area, food and beverage will be created. The organisers also have professional security services, bouncers and more than 50 crew members to supervise and manage the crowd.

The event will start at 4 p.m. with the gates being thrown open an hour ahead.
