Young self-taught artist Mithran believes in pushing boundaries. The software engineer uses tooth brushes, petrol, wall paint, flat iron metals, clothes and paper to blend colours. He gives both contemporary issues and nature’s wonders a novel touch at ‘Abstract and Modern’, a show supported by the Shilpataru Foundation.

Maa, amma, mere or mother. Whatever the word, it denotes the same person. Twelve artists explore the idea of a mother through their work. The theme of the exhibition celebrates the centenary of The Mother’s (Mirra Alfassa) arrival in Puducherry and the first anniversary of the gallery.
