The much-awaited annual Textile and Jewellery show of the Crafts Council of India will be held on March 5 and 6 at Hotel Sheraton Chola. On display will be rich handwoven, handcrafted and hand embellished saris, textiles, jewellery and bags.
Alima Khatun presents a fine collection of kantha saris, dupattas and stoles, there will be bags from Ananya; Moksha comes up with a range of handpainted batik on tussar, silk, crepe and kota saris; Naturally has a collection of Assam muga silk saris, duppattas and stoles, while Nilambari brings Benaras saris and dupattas.
Check out the Parsi ghara of Patina Designs, Ramananda Basak's Bengal cottons and Vidhi Singhania's Kota saris.
VKS Design Studio brings block prints on handloom, chanderi and Benaras while Shakuni will display its diamond and stone jewellery. Also available will be ethnic yardage, stylish kurtis, tunics and children's wear.
The Crafts Council of India, a voluntary organisation started in 1964, promotes crafts and supports individual craftspersons and communities.
