What it is about…

Sri Bannari Amman Productions’ Unakku 20 Enakku 40 has KPS Akshai in the lead role. He has also written and directed the film which features two heroines, Shalini and Amrutha. The others in the cast are Singam Puli, Vaiyapuri, Vadivukkarasi, Karishma, Bavalakshman, Pondamani, Shankar, Vijai Ganesh and Natesh. There is also a second hero, Siva S. P.S. Selvam has handled the camera; Joy Maxwell is the music director; and E. Prakash, the editor. In the film, Shalini and Amrutha are not only good friends but also study in the same college. At one stage, Amrutha loves Shalini’s father and what follows forms an interesting story. The audio of Enakku 20 Unakku 40 was released by director R.K. Selvamani and received by director V. Sekar in the presence of the unit members.

There are five songs in the album, all easy on the ear — ‘Sirikira Theeye,’ sung by Karthik and Chinmayi and written by Thamizhamudan, ‘Elelo Elelo,’ sung by Mukesh and Priyadarshini and written by M. Rajesh, ‘Madhan Varam’ sung by Chinmayi, ‘Ada Thaga Thaga,’ written by Thamizhamudan and sung by Sathyan, M.K.Balaji and Priyadharshini, and ‘Mayil Urangu,’ sung by Swetha and written by the director.

Director and hero KPS Akshai: After graduation, I pursued a course in visual communication at a private film institute. It’s been my dream to direct a film and it has come true with Enakku 20 Unakku 40 .

Music director Joy Maxwell: I have cut several albums in Malayalam. One of my albums, ‘The Two Men,’ attracted director KPS Akshai’s attention. He asked me to score the music for this film. All the songs have come out well.
