Contemporary Touch At Asharaa

If you are looking to give your home or yourself a makeover, here’s Ashaara, a design house of fashion, furnishings and furniture. On its recent relocation to Khader Nawaz Khan Road, the store added the clothing line. Each piece at the store vies with another for attention, with its classy-meets-quirky feel. An inherent love for design led founder and creative director Roopa Shetty to bringing together her creativity into one space. “With changing sensibilities of people, it’s exciting to help people decorate houses. Decorating spaces is becoming as personal as fashion now as people demand uniqueness. I design or source all our products with a detail-oriented approach.”

Mood enhancers

The store houses furnishing fabrics, wallpapers, rugs, furniture, bed and table linen and interior accessories by reputable brands and in-house designs. Some accessories are intended to create a different mood — think banana leaf candle stand, triangular snack trays, kitchenware with pop-art elements, Hollywood-inspired printed table mats and animal-shaped door knobs. The product designs border on art. The laser cut metal lightings, dramatic steel mirrors, foil wall art and gold-finish chairs are chic. The vintage treasures collected across the globe such as painted canvas files, retro-printed frames and bags, trays made with folded magazine papers and antique playing cards make for good gifting options.

Roopa Shetty sheds light on her design philosophy, “People like to make a statement with their living spaces and want their décor pieces to be conversation-starters.”

The creative team of Ashaara also undertakes interior design consultancy. “When we design a house, we focus on space planning and enhancing the space depending on the personality of the client. Since we also customise, it opens up a lot of possibilities and room for experimentation.”

Ashaara’s shelves are filled with creations for its in-house fashion and accessories line Anya — kurtis, linen tops, cotton tunics with clean-cut designs and contemporary elements. Garments and fusion accessories from other designers also find space here.
