NEW AVATAR Ruhana Khanna

Making a comeback as Krishna, nine-year-old Ruhana Khanna, who portrayed Gangaa as a child in the series talks about her new role and more.

How will you be introduced again in the show?

I am playing the role of Gangaa’s daughter. And will be entering the show on the occasion of Janmashtami. You will see me dressed up as Lord Krishna; he is my favourite God. I am very happy that I will be playing the character of Lord Krishna.

How similar is Krishna and Gangaa’s character which you did previously?

My character as Krishna is somewhat same as that of Gangaa. I think there is only one difference between Gangaa and Krishna and that is their costumes. Earlier when I was playing the character of Gangaa, I had to wear white sari because Gangaa was a girl who had lost her husband in childhood but now I will be wearing colourful and bright costumes, especially the costume of Krishna.

What do you like the most – Gangaa or Krishna?

I like both the characters. Both have their own significance. But yes, I am tilted towards the character of Krishna a little bit. I am very naughty in real life as Krishna is. Krishna loves to eat butter and that is what I love the most.

Do you bond with other characters on the sets?

I am the only child on the set of Gangaa . Earlier, when I was paying the role of Gangaa, I had a friend (Swar Hingonia, who played Sagar). Now Gangaa (Aditi Sharma), lead actress of the show, takes care of me. Whenever mummy is not with me, she plays the role of my mother!

A character that you would like to play...

I want to play the character of Meera. Also, I want to play Salman Khan's daughter. I am a big fan of Salman Khan. For two years, I have been waiting to talk to him once. I love him a lot.
