It’s is a store made for those who love the feel and look of classy cotton all over their house. It opens doors, once again, despite the melee of non-natural fabrics flooding our lives, to a world of European designs where bedspreads in Gingham checks rub shoulders with honeycomb towels, denim potholders sit petite next to lime green beach cushions.

Loom offers a chic collection of bed, bath, kitchen, dining, garden and living room wear.

So it essentially spans everything from foot mats to curtains, hammocks to breadbaskets.

And there’s something for everyone — there’s the beige, cream, black and white palette for those who like to keep it very understated. There are the pinks and mauves, teal blues and lime greens for those who like some colour.

There are interesting weaves like the seer-sucker weave that gives the crushed cotton effect, and pleated weave which looks like pintuck stitches, but is really a weave! Some of the cushion covers come with minimalist embroidery.

The bed linen range has the plains, classic checks, and stripes in king, queen and single sizes. There are sets with pillow covers, then there are fleece-lined duvets and thick knotted throws. The bath range has hand towels, bath towels, foot mats, bathroom gowns and slippers, fabric containers to store toiletries and toilet bags for travel. The dining ware range includes breadbaskets, table napkins, kitchen towels, tablemats, table cloths and table runners, mittens and aprons.

The outdoor collection has beach beds, beach bags, hammocks, beach cushions — all with handles to make carrying them easier.

The curtains come in three variants — solids, sheer and fringe. There’s also a denim collection spanning everything from yoga mats to potholders.

Cloth shopping bags come in a range of plains, woven designs and cool prints. A set of two cushion covers star at Rs. 400, Curtains are price Rs. 597 onwards, the bath range starts at Rs. 246.

The store is interior designer Lathika Nambiar’s baby. And she’s no newbie to the business.

Her family-run Shabari International has been in textile exports since 1965. The quality cotton that form Loom’s products all come from Kerala.

Since they’ve been exporting to Europe, Australia, and Japan, their sensibilities are international, points out Lathika. There is also the promise of a holiday collection to hit the store soon, for those who like some “bling” in their home linen, says Lathika.

Loom is at 25/5, Maruthi Complex, Lavelle Road, opposite Smoke House Deli. Call 41662584
