Coffee and chocolate make a wonderful combination, perfect for the morning, afternoon or evening!

Coffee-Choco milk shake

Ingredients:

Strong coffee – 1 cup

Chocolate sauce - Half cup

Milk – 5 to 6 cups

For the Chocolate sauce-

Sugar- 1 cup

Water – One third cup

Cocoa – 6 tbsp

Milk – One fourth cup

Vanilla essence – One fourth tsp

Method:

To make chocolate sauce, mix the sugar with the water. Boil for 4 to 5 minutes. Add cocoa and vanilla essence. Place the pan over hot water. Simmer until thick. Now add milk, stir well and remove from heat.

For the shake, combine all ingredients in a blender or shaker. Serve chilled.

Coffee Cake

Ingredients:

Flour – 180 gms

Sugar, powdered – 180 gms

Butter – 180 gms

Eggs – 3

Baking powder – 3 level tsp

Instant coffee powder – 3 level tsp

Milk – 2 tbsp

Method:

Grease and flour two 8” sandwich tins. Set the oven at 400 degrees F.

Sift flour, baking powder, and coffee powder thrice.

Cream butter and sugar until light. Whisk the eggs well and add to the mixture, a little at a time, beating on each addition. Fold in the flour, adding milk. Stir the batter well and pour equally into the tins. Smooth the surface with a palette knife. Bake in a pre-heated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Sandwich together with vanilla or chocolate buttercream.
