Changing your look gives a tremendous boost to your confidence level. So if you haven't tried out a trendy haircut, it isn't too late.

Those with wavy or curly hair could go in for a short shoulder cut or a slightly longer style that could rest just below your shoulder. Relaxed curls and curves would make it easy to control fizzy hair. If you want to leave your hair loose, avoid very long cuts. Unless it is maintained well, it could look messy and unkempt.

Also, please stay miles away from the ‘boy' cut unless you are tall and slim, have a slender neck and a thin face with high cheek bones. Only then can you carry off a very short cut. Even if you do prefer a boy cut, ensure it is done with some ‘softness' and style.

Trendy look

Many trendy, very short cuts are available. A ‘short look' at the back with a slightly ‘longer look' in the front (with the hair framing your face) could be tried.

The hair in the front could be smoothened to make sure it falls well. Most of the time, these styles with extremely short hair have a ‘hacked' look! So please avoid!

Any stylist loves to have a go at wavy or curly hair, because such hair poses a challenge to his creativity since it is so versatile. An expert stylist could give you the look you always wanted.

Curly or wavy hair can be worn loose and free. You could wear it upswept and pinned up with a few strands framing your face. The best way would be to hold it back or in place by using colourful and well designed hair bands that are available in all sizes and shapes.

Specialised care

Again curly/wavy hair need specialised care. Do use moisturising, curl enhancing shampoo and conditioners (the anti-frizz conditioner from Garnier is pretty good to control the frizz) and styling products. Livon or similar products could also be used occasionally to give your hair a smooth look.

The right use of these products will define, detangle and ‘defrizz' your hair. Again please discuss the choice of products with an expert stylist.

For special occasions after shampooing and conditioning your hair, towel dry your hair gently, apply a small amount of curl enhancing sculpting product (suggested Catwalk curl booster) on your hair and gently crunch. Blow dry your hair with the diffuser attachment set on low heat. Now use your fingers gently to curl your hair for about two minutes. And there! You have your curls cascading down.
