I visited Chatter House when it was launched almost a year back and liked the place for its good music and food. A few days back I got to know that they have changed their chef and have come up with some new additions so a visit was on the cards.
Located conveniently under the Nehru Place metro station at Epicuria Mall, Chatter House is a place to hangout with friends and enjoy hot pizzas with the wonderful combination of mocktails and cocktails.
Complementing the season, I started with a piping hot bowl of roasted pumpkin soup. Somehow it was very under seasoned and lacked the texture of a pumpkin soup. The accompanying bread was not toasted perfectly and didn’t seem to be fresh.
The deconstructed Caesar salad too was a very average salad with loads of mayonnaise which killed its freshness. I didn’t start on a good note but the appetizers helped me to at least fill my stomach. Shish taouk, barbecued wings, peri peri chicken and some of the North Indian variants of kababs and tikkas were good enough.
Swadeep Popli, the owner of the place is a passionate guy when it comes to food but I think he has to work on his chef, who needs time to improve his food. Before hitting the main course, their popular pizza and burgers neededto be tasted. The pizza was a margherita but had very chewy cheese on to it which was a disaster. The burger I asked for was a Chatter House signature beef burger with a rare medium patty butwhat I got was well done. The bun couldn’t hold the patty and was breaking, which a burger should not. Going through the menu, I considered skipping the Indian mains but ended up ordering bhuna gosht and dal makhni, two of the safest dishes to try but I have to say that even an inexperienced lad will make better curry. The Chatter House special dessert platter helped me leave with a refreshing aftertaste though the food wasn’t anything to talk about.
