Sharmila and Waheeda in Bengaluru

The two legendary actors will talk about their lives, and their songs will be sung live on stage

Maam Entertainment, to celebrate its 10 anniversary, is all set to present on stage two legends this Saturday - Waheeda Rehman and Sharmila Tagore. The two iconic stars of Hindi cinema will share their stories on stage in a retrospective sprinkled with their favourite songs.

Dubbed the ‘The Rendezvous’, this chat-musical will have the two actors in conversation with National Award Winning filmmaker Brahmanand Singh. The evening will be a trip down memory lane, peppered with anecdotes, and interspersed with both their songs performed by Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Indian Idol winners Gaurav Bangia (Mumbai), Kinjal Chatterjee (Kolkata), Surojit Guha (Chennai), Amarta Datta Gupta, Sinchan Dixit , Madhura Datar (Pune), Samanvitha Sharma, Swagata Mitra and Anjana Padmanabhan (Guest artist).

Waheeda Rehman and Sharmila Tagore will also be in conversation with Suchitra Krishnamoorthi who will drive a discussion on issues of women’s empowerment, as both stars are not just iconic symbols of empowerment, but also endorse initiatives that support women. The actors will also release a limited edition coffee-table book featuring 23 women achievers that celebrates ‘Women of Substance’.

The event is on April 4, at 6 p.m. at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Vyalikaval. Tickets priced at Rs. 1000 are available online through: www.bookmyshow.com / www.indianstage.in.
