When we invited readers to tell us what makes them interesting, the response was overwhelming. It looks like the city is brimming with people with a plethora of interests. Here’s P. Ajitha who thinks life is for living queen size.

I am born into a family of educationists, and I have been groomed into becoming an educator myself. Teaching to me is not just a profession but a calling! It is a privilege to interact with vibrant minds that are waiting for motivation and direction. I consider myself lucky that I can guide my students in their amazing journey of self-discovery. I am fortunate to have seen the best of life in the armed forces and the world of education and entrepreneurship. I have studied in Sainik School Imphal and represented Tamil Nadu at the 2002 Republic Day Camp at Delhi as part of Senior Wings NCC girls division as Senior Under Officer of my college. Members of my family have been in the uniformed services which is one of the reasons for my love for order and structure. I have grown up watching my parents emphasise on regularity, punctuality and commitment. Being married to an entrepreneur, my initiation into the business world has filled me with awe and respect for people who are self-dependent and enterprising and are also providers of employment and livelihood to others.

Life seems to have come a full circle after becoming a mother and encountering the trials and tribulations of parenthood. Bringing up a child is not child’s play. It has its sacrifices and rewards. Balancing work and life is all about getting priorities right and investing time for what matters most. My profession as a teacher gives me a sense of identity and satisfaction.

A sense of humour and the ability to laugh at myself helps me tide over life’s temporary setbacks. I am a foodie. I like to unwind listening to music and heart-warming stories. I am a movie buff who especially enjoys romantic comedies and family drama. My favourite movie is Life is Beautiful . Reading is my other passion.
