Wash it off after 15 minutes with plain water. Twice a week, apply a face mask. Mix three teaspoons of oatmeal with one teaspoon each of honey, curd and lemon juice, or egg white. The skin of the lips is very thin and delicate. However, after washing the face, when the lips are still wet, you can rub them gently with a soft towel. This helps to remove dead skin. Then apply cream of milk and leave it on for an hour. Apply pure almond oil daily on the lips at night and leave it on overnight. You can also look for a lip balm with sunscreen. You can also ask your doctor if you need vitamin supplements.

Please suggest some way of slimming down below the waist for my friend.— Uma

After consulting your doctor, do the following exercise daily. Lie on your stomach, resting your chin on your hands. Lift up one leg at a time, without raising your waist off the floor. Hold the leg straight. Repeat five times with each leg. You can also learn yoga and practise it daily. Put on dark colours, as they have a slimming effect.

Please suggest which is better for hair removal — shaving or waxing? Also please also suggest a home remedy.— Vaishali

Waxing is the best option for removal of hair from the body. It is best to have it done at a beauty salon. For facial hair, threading and waxing are generally used for different areas. Home remedies do not remove hair. But, they are said to lessen hair growth if used regularly during a period of time. You may try the following remedies for discouraging hair growth.

Make a thick paste of sugar, lemon juice and water and apply it in the direction of hair growth. Wash it off when it dries. Apply it once or twice a week. Apply a paste of turmeric powder and milk and rub this on the skin with a circular motion. It is said to discourage facial hair, but it may leave a slight yellowish colour on the skin.
