Zura offers a varied summer menu
Zura, in Gurgaon, sector 29 commercial complex, has come up with its summer menu. The chic multi-cuisine, multi-level restaurant opposite Kingdom of Dreams combines a lounge, bar, café, restaurant and wine cellar. The menu is extensive and includes plenty of variety in salads and soups as well. Zura Grilled Chicken salad with apple, toasted walnut and cranberry tossed in light balsamic dressing is refreshing and healthy. The toasted walnut gives a good flavour that lingers. Oriental Chicken & Wanton salad and Roasted Pumpkin & Spinach salad with feta cheese are also worth trying. Spicy Prawn & Corn Ball soup with cilantro & lemon will set your palate for the food to follow.
The appetisers list is a nice mix of Indian as well as Mediterranean and Lebanese delicacies. The famous Sheesh Tauok and Lamb Kibbeh served with authentic and traditional dips of hummus, tzatziki, baba ganoush and tabouleh salad are a delicious option, the mutton in the Lamb Kibbeh perfectly minced and blended well with spices. But for a change I try the 3 Kebab Platter and that too a vegetarian one. The platter consists of rajma shammi kabab, achari paneer tikka, haryali kabab and a katori of dal makhni with crisp paratha. Rajma kabab, though admittedly a bit dry, tastes good. The haryali kabab has a nice crispy layer and is tender on the inside. But sometimes the most homely dishes steal your heart, and that’s what happened with the creamy dal makhni combined with the hot crispy paratha.
But if you are a pizza fan, Zura also has assorted bruschetta, chesse and mezze platters. The 8” hand-tossed thin crust pizzas have unending options.
In the main course, the Moroccan Lamb Stew is tempting, a healthy and light dish. Traditionally served with chickpeas and couscous in tajines, it is finger-licking good.
But the USP of Zura is its bakery and desserts. The Banoffee Pie, Special in-house Cookie Sundae, baked cheese cake, tiramisu and the Molten Chocolate Cake are just scrumptious.
