Angry Indian Goddesses has been selected as a ‘Special Presentation’ at this year’s Toronto Film Festival. The film, touted as India’s first-ever female buddy movie, boasts a stellar cast of seven actresses: Sarah-Jane Dias, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Anushka Manchanda, Sandhya Mridul, Amrit Maghera, Pavleen Gujral and Rajshri Deshpande.

Director Pan Nalin says in a press statement, “For many years, I’ve been longing to do a film with firebrand Indian women in lead roles, purely out of rebel spirit, because a lot of women’s roles in Bollywood are only for decoration.”

The film has been produced by Jungle Book Entertainment, which is a collaboration between the director and producer Gaurav Dhingra ( Peddlers , Ice Road Truckers ).
